An end of year round up from The Vibrancy Hub

Here at The Vibrancy Hub we are all about reflections and learning, so the three of us thought we would compile our highlights from work & personal life plus the challenges that we have faced along the way…

We launched our Women Rising programme with a second Clearscore cohort this year. The continuity of seeing another 10 colleagues within the same organisation move through this learning experience has filled me with pride + hope. Hope for the future of business + leadership. This continuity is where culture shifts happen - a business bought into developing a more diverse breed of leaders - leaders with different ideas, perspectives, gifts + passions. A business challenging the status quo. A business putting inclusivity at its heart + seeing the positive impact of this. To support women with the confidence to rediscover + ignite their wholeness has been such a privilege. And to support the business to hold space for this has been hard + fun.

Personal highlight

This year has been a story of deeeeeeeeeep personal growth for me. I have had the honour of working intimately with my mentor Fiona Arrigo in Somerset, Andalucia + India where I have seen so many parts of myself die. Experiencing the beauty + vibrancy of India whilst witnessing a more anchored, honest + peaceful part of myself emerge has been honestly life changing.

Challenge

In January 2023 I moved to Mallorca - and whilst my heart was filled with blue skies, stunning coastlines, a more diverse community + a lifestyle that fits me like a glove…I was deeply lonely + our business struggled. After 7 months, I returned back to the UK - with my tail between my legs. Feeling like a failure + navigating such a conflict between my internal needs + desires. My Mallorca chapter is not over - I know now that it is not a failure. It was an opportunity for even more self exploration (that I would not have done had I chosen the east route + stayed in the UK) + a chance to get even more intentional with the way I live my life.

A wondrous part of my coaching this year has been supporting and guiding people who are moving through life challenges that I have lived through myself. There have been marriages coming to an end, taking a gap year and working out what they want their future to look like, reconnecting to their sensuality and sex life, major career change - some biggies! And it’s been so fulfilling to see more transformation and positive impact than ever before. I think it's because I understand what they’re going through and this deepens the connection between me and the client. This work is literally why I am on this planet!

Personal highlight

Following my own separation and a very tough couple years, I felt drawn to spending time in different places overseas - I want to understand other cultures and the people within them. I spent 6 months of the year working remotely, and without doubt the highlight was meeting incredible new friends from various parts of the world who I bonded deeply with. It reminded me that ‘our people’ and some of the most extraordinary friends we’ll ever have are out there just waiting to meet us! Putting myself completely out of my comfort zone living in places I knew nobody made me realise how strong I am and I can honestly say I feel more like ‘me’ than I ever have.

Challenge

There’s been a few! Spending so much time alone overseas whilst coping with the pain of divorce and navigating peri-menopause was quite the concoction! Work-wise it’s been tough this year as people tighten their belts, the first thing to go is investing in themselves which is hard to see as we know it is the investment that is going to make the biggest difference to their overall life fulfilment and happiness - and there is no time to waste!

Work Highlight

This year I’ve loved working with an ambitious and growing business as their internal coach; supporting 6 of their women with 121 coaching & mentoring. Over the course of the year, we have seen a greater awareness of their own strengths, growth in confidence, and leaning into personal development which has positively impacted not only their work but also their lives. The benefit of working with multiple people in the same business is we are now seeing the ripple effects of the coaching at a macro level - feeding back into the company culture, and linking into performance.

Personally, I get a lot out of feeling like I am positively impacting a business and developing relationships over time, a nod back to my client services days I suppose but I’ve realised this is an area I really enjoy, so I’m looking to do more of this work in 2024.

Personal highlight

I had a rocky start to 2023 with a bout of sciatica amongst other things. As someone who has been lucky enough to take health for granted in the past, this year has certainly been a leveller. I’m now back into a regular exercise routine and it’s really had a positive impact on my physical and mental fitness. Proud of myself for getting back on the horse!

Challenge

Being in a small business in 2023 has been tough! There has been lots of uncertainty along the way, and I think I’m still adapting to the small biz mentality having always worked in at least mid-size businesses. I’m really proud of us for the resilience we have shown - it’s not always felt easy, but we have pivoted, kept the faith and bolstered each other along the way. Roll on 2024 for The Vibrancy Hub.
